The Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) received 14 awards at the prestigious Management Leadership Excellence (MLE) Awards 2026, held on 15th September 2026 at the Monarch Imperial Hotel, Colombo. The recognition reflects PHDT’s significant contribution to community development, leadership, and organizational excellence within Sri Lanka’s plantation sector. PHDT was ranked No. 2 nationally at the awards, placing the organization among the leading institutions recognized for excellence in management, leadership, and organizational performance. A significant highlight of the evening was the recognition of three PHDT Directors for leadership excellence. In addition, five awards were presented to Mr. Lal Perera, Director General of PHDT, in recognition of his leadership, commitment to strengthening transparency, and contribution to management excellence under the C-Suite category within the plantation sector.
The awards also recognized five Emerging Managers from Regional Plantation Companies (RPCs) for their commitment to continuous improvement and initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being and development of plantation communities. Their recognition reflects the growing emphasis on professional leadership, innovation, and effective management at the estate level.
